Unicorn Automotive
The vision for this initiative was born out of lived experience. Recently, life took an unexpected turn, and the founder of Unicorn Automotive—a dedicated mama—found herself suddenly without a vehicle. Getting to school, going to work, and managing daily family life immediately became an uphill battle.
Because of her 21+ years of hands-on experience spanning dealership service management, service advisory, and parts, she had the specialized skills and knowledge to get herself out of that jam. But navigating that struggle opened her eyes to a massive gap: What about the families who don't have those skills? Without industry know-how, overcoming the loss of a vehicle, or staring down a massive, confusing repair estimate, can feel completely impossible.
That realization split our mission into two distinct branches. First, the Community Vehicle Initiative focuses on sourcing reliable transportation for vulnerable folks. We are actively looking for a local non-profit partner to join forces with us to screen applicants and ensure vehicles go to the families who need them most. We are also seeking community partners—including for-profit businesses—to help supply and repair the vehicles. Those who support our mission through vehicle donations or repair services will be proudly recognized as sponsors during our giveaways. If you would like to partner with us, please contact us at outreach@unicornauto.org.
Second, our Pro-Bono Your Service Advisor program offers professional advocacy for individuals facing difficult or potentially predatory automotive situations. Whether you are dealing with a confusing repair bill, fighting a warranty denial, reviewing a major quote, or navigating a general auto shop dispute, we step in to help. (Read more about the Your Service Advisor service here). We know the industry inside and out, and we use that knowledge to fight for those who are being taken advantage of. We are currently accepting direct applications from individuals facing immense need, so no one is left stranded while we build our referral network.
